![]() Not to mention that I got pretty tired of cryokinesis after engineering.PSI is actually all three paths rolled into one. I also felt that many of the PSI powers were contrived and not very useful, and I had to go out of my way to set up situations where I could use some of the more interesting powers. I thought the OSA character would be fun to play because of the variety of possibilities, but I ended up sticking to just a handful of PSI powers so it really wasn't that interesting. I think the biggest problem with the OSA character path is that there are too many PSI powers and the PSI interface makes it a little too difficult to find & switch to the one you want when you want it. So maybe try to use your powers to turn confrontations in your favour or avoid them altogether, or to complement other forms of offense (eg localised pyrokinesis and agility with a melee attack). I remember reading in a postmortem one of the devs saying they were keen for psi powers not just to feel like weapons with different graphics and to that end, having relatively few and relatively weak directly offensive powers was a good move. Psi seems to me to require a much more tactical way of playing. but I still had a lot of fun remote-hacking turrets, turning enemies to my side, stealing their health points to augment my own or just disappearing when I didn't want to fight. I also gave myself a smattering of standard and heavy weapon skills because, when I started playing, I was too scared to get close enough to the enemies to use the wrench unless I absolutely had to ! This meant that lot of the time the focus of my psi was how to use the powers to give myself more of an advantage with my weapons rather than for straightforward assault. ![]() I really enjoyed playing through using psi powers.
